Month 9

Eliza had her first introduction to the Holiday Season during her ninth month. We had a lot of fun getting festive! I made a TON of wreaths and decorations for the house. I've never really been so into decorating for holidays as I have been since Eliza came along. She makes Holidays more fun! She also grew and changed so much. I think that this was when I really started to see her change from a baby into a toddler.

Eliza began to play by herself in her room. She loves being in her room.

She began to protest things with strong emotion. :)

She had her first Thanksgiving! Above are pictures of her first turkey dinner. She wasn't terribly impressed, in fact all she really wanted was a nap. Who doesn't love a Thanksgiving Day nap? The girl is smart.

Eliza began crawling four days after Thanksgiving!
Just in time for Christmas decorations! Eliza did a great job of not touching the tree, it took about three days of my constant supervision and correction when she did try to pull on the tree, but she figured it out and settled on waving at the tree whenever she was tempted to touch it. She also waved at the tree first thing when we came out of her room in the mornings. She is so friendly.

She started standing if we placed her in a place with support.

Eliza started to enjoy playing with toys too. She would look at the toys and chew on the toys previously, but she really started engaging with toys in her ninth month.

She discovered herself and decided that she LOVED herself. She waves at herself anytime she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror.

Eliza got to see snow for the first time! She loved it and stared out the window most of the day. Unfortunately, she had a pretty bad cold, so she wasn't able to really play in it.

This was the view from outside her bedroom window. Crazy, right? Oh, Las Cruces, you never fail to surprise us.

Watching some of the early flakes fall. She just stared.

Nine months was also about the time that the monthly photo shoots became extremely difficult to get her to sit still. She loves the camera and would rather chew on it then have it take her picture. I snapped this one right before she made a B-line for the camera.
